About the Product
Their first studio album was released on 25 July 1969. The band had formed in mid-1968, they toured extensively across the United Kingdom playing original material and radically reworked cover versions. They signed with Atlantic in early 1969, and recorded their first album in London. While they covered a Beatles and a Byrds song, it was the wonderful closing track 'Survival' which really points the way to the Yes music of the future. That track's inclusion on 1970's popular Age of Atlantic compilation also did much to push Yes's profile. Surprisingly, their debut album didn't chart anywhere except for Australia where it made #38 but it remains an important musical building block upon which the band's genius was built.
