Selling England by the Pound is the fifth Genesis album, released in October 1973 on Charisma Records. It reached number 3 in the UK and number 70 in the U.S. A single from the album, "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)" was released in February 1974 and became the band's first top 30 hit in the UK.
The album was recorded in August 1973. The band set aside a short period of time to write new material, which covered a number of themes, including the loss of English folk culture and an increased American influence, which was reflected in the title. The album cover is a painting by Betty Swanwick titled The Dream. Swanwick had designed posters for London Transport between the 1930s and 1950s. The original painting did not feature a lawn mower; the band had Swanwick add it later as an allusion to the song "I Know What I Like."
All of the songs are fantastic but Firth of Fifth is my favourite. Soaring, almost church-like, holy music with a guitat melody which transcends it is 100% joy. Hackett has spoken favourably about his contributions to the song, saying "it'll always be twinned with me, and I still enjoy playing it. It's a great melody for guitar." What a record.

Returns & Exchanges

Try and check your order is correct before or even just after you have ordered. You will get an order confirmation and shipping confirmation. Because we will print your order especially for you and will have no use for it if you mistakenly order, say, a small when you mean it to be an XL and we have to replace your error. Just check your order confirmation. If you can't find it, it may be in your Spam, but it will have been automatically sent to the email address provided. Of course, if you've spelled it wrongly or haven't put an email at all, you won't get or know anything. 

I'm telling you all this out of long and bitter experience. But most of all, if you've done any of these mistakes, don't try and blame us. I always own up to mistakes. I'll sort it all out and I'll understand but don't say I haven't said all this when I obviously have but you've not read it. Everything can always be sorted.

But if you need to change size or colour or design, or just fancy a refund, it’s all cool. I can sort all of this out for you. Please note, some designs are intentionally distressed, you should note this and not write to me to say it's not properly printed, as that'd be silly, wouldn't it?

So before ordering - please measure your size and choose correctly -  see size chart 

When returning an item it must arrive with us in it’s original condition. Wearing it down the pub on a Friday night out, getting it covered in Guinness and setting light to it via a badly rolled reefer, then returning it on Monday, is understandable, but not allowed by the karma pixies who govern our lives. And we don't want to upset the karma pixies now, do we? 

If your item is in any way faulty then please contact me immediately, send a photo of the issue and I will get a replacement organised. For clarity, the concept of faulty does not include stains from a lamb dhansak you have spilled down yourself after consuming 8 pints of lager.  For faulty items there will be no return fee.

Before making a return, please email me boss@djtees.com with your order number, and what you want to happen - a refund, or a different size/colour/design. I can then make it happen because I am all powerful, can change my clothes in a phone box and can fire spider web's from places I didn't know I even had. Possibly.

You will always be dealing with me, Johnny, because DJTees is so small, niche and bespoke that I do all admin, even on Xmas Day. Don't worry, I don't bite, or at least not unless you are a sausage. I do bite sausages.

SHIPPING 

We print everything to order and don't hold any stock of anything. That would be mad we'd have to have 748,000 to have just one of everything. Almost all orders are printed within 1-4 working days (this doesn't include weekends and public holidays), 5-8 in December occasionally as longer if we have run out of a size or colour t-shirt and stock is delayed in arriving.
