When the Purps hit San Diego for this show they were on their ‘Who Do We Think We Are’ tour which was 84 shows in 13 countries, 39 in the USA and with Fleetwood Mac and Rory Gallagher in support.
Mac had just released the much under-valued ‘Bare Trees’ album and Rory was in between ‘Deuce’ and ‘Made In Europe’ which would give him his highest charting UK album. In USA he had nine albums on Billboard but none got higher than #101
