About the Product
It made #22 in the UK and #138 in the USA in 1979. My memory of this album is that people who were a bit resistant to Genesis’s recent ‘commercial’ direction, felt it was the keeper of the proggy, pastoral Genesis flame. This was his third solo album but I recall its release in May distinctly because I was sitting my A levels soon after and because Steve played the Reading Festival and then toured the album in October, playing Newcastle City Hall in my first term at college on 26th October. I didn’t go, because there were so many gigs and I couldn’t afford them all, but I knew plenty who did. Afterwards the fact he wore long, riding-style boots was at the forefront of everyone’s minds! He finished with ‘I Know What I Like’ and played two other Genesis songs ‘Blood On The Rooftops’ and ‘Horizons.’ The next three albums charted higher but I think this one was the most highly regarded and in fact I saw Steve play the album in the first half of a show in Edinburgh five or so years ago.
