This was an early gig on the band’s ‘Who’s Next’ tour in Sunderland at the Top Rank Suite. I like how they’re calling it the Fillmore of the North, to try and get some hip kudos from the Fillmore West and East in the USA. The tour was 89 shows in 11 countries, 36 in the UK and 37 in America.
Just 50p to get in - that’s about £5 in today’s money! Late transport home, a bar till 1am and The Who. That sounds like 50p well spent. And they had a cloakroom. I miss the civilising influence of a cloakroom, especially in winter. They used to have one at the Mayfair in Newcastle. I once sweated so much that the ticket went to mush in my back pocket.
EU Countries: You've heard of Brexit haven't you? If you haven't, I admire your ability to ignore the real world. It means if you live in the EU, you will have to pay VAT on your order to get it delivered.
