He was a massively influential player. Once heard, never forgotten, his use of octaves was groundbreaking. A lot of guitarists have a ‘Wes’ track like Eric Johnson’s East Wes on Ah Via Musicom. He died of a heart attack at just 45 in 1968. It’s funny but his records still sound modern, he was that influential.
