Yes Queen Kingston Poly Poster T-Shirt
About the Product
When this gig happened, Yes were touring ‘The Yes Album’ and helping it get to #4 on the UK chart in 1971, #40 in the USA. For this show at Kingston Poly, a college near London, they were supported by Queen.
Now, this was a significant date in Queen’s history as John Deacon had just joined the band that month and this was, I think, his second ever live show. They were working up material for the debut album and were total unknowns, so much so that only 6 people turned up to a gig in early 1972. They took most of that year off to write and record the debut album. It was supporting Mott The Hoople in 1973 that would break them. By 1974 they were huge and they’ve been huge ever since.
