Drawn from an early 70s photo when Mason had relocated to California and his brilliant ‘Alone Together’ album had reached #22 in the USA, the highest position of any of his albums. It was made with Bonnie Bramlett, Leon Russell, Jim Capaldi, Rita Coolidge, Carl Radle and Jim Gordon, as were so many records at the time.
Having been a founding member of Traffic, and being briefly in Derek and the Dominoes in the early 70s, thanks to half a dozen studio top 50 charting albums and a couple of live records, he was well-regarded as a songwriter and guitarist, at least in America. Still out there, living for the music
