Released in 1976 this was collaboration between Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart and Zakir Hussain. Largely percussion based, Jerry Garcia does play guitar on two tracks, one of them "Happiness Is Drumming" is an early, instrumental version of "Fire on the Mountain" which would appear on The Dead's 'Shakedown Street' album.
It is a sweeping record full of joyful rhythms and sounds that was very ahead of its time in introducing instrumental world music to a new rock audience. It wasn't commercially successful at the time but it left an important legacy...and a far out cover.
