The Soundtrack to the movie, not the TV show, initially only got to #21 in the UK but topped the charts when it was re-released. The title track was the UK's best-selling single of 1982 and made #1 for 3 weeks. In the USA the single made #4 and the album #7. The guitar solo on 'Fame' was played by Elliot Randall, who played on Steely Dan records.
