About the Product
You know I love collecting records from less famous late 60s San Franciscan bands. This came out in 1971. Formed in 1967 in Berkeley, California and very much part of the hippy scene. They released three studio albums on Capitol Records in the early 1970s as well as a minor hit single in 1971, "Brownsville". They were a rare example of a rock band fronted by women, Terry Garthwaite and Toni Brown, who later, earned a master's degree in clinical psychology and in 1991 founded Four Winds West, a non-profit transitional house for disadvantaged youth in Fairfax. How lovely of her. The band's music was a mix of hippie far outness with rock, blues, folk, and jazz, and often feminist lyrics. Their debut made #100 on Billboard but that was the extent of their commercialism. And although this got a UK release on green Capitol, you rarely see copies and if you do expect to pay £30 for a clean copy.
