One of the finest blues guitarists. I first heard him on Joni’s Miles Of Aisles when he was in Tom Scott’s primo jazz-fusion outfit, L.A. Express, in his early 20’s. He was invited to play the solo on Steely Dan’s ‘Peg’ but they used Jay Gradon’s instead. I didn’t know until I researched this that in 1982, he was one of several guitarists who appeared on the KISS album Creatures of the Night, playing lead guitar on the songs "Rock And Roll Hell" and "I Still Love You". Of his extensive solo output, I especially dig 1993’s Mystic Mile and 1997’s Tiger Walk, both of which showcase great guitar playing married to good songs. He has 5 Grammy nominations, currently lives in France and toured in support of Eric Clapton in 2022.
